Name 50 States in 10 Minutes or 13 Provinces and Territories in 2

March 3rd, 2007

Can you name 50 US states in 10 Minutes? Here’s a hint, if you get stuck think about the property names in Monopoly. I got 32 out of 50 on my first try.

I hope no one minds, but I converted the 50 States in 10 minutes game into a Canadian version: 13 Provinces and Territories in 2 minutes.

Update: See my list of other versions of the game.

Really cool game. I would have done better but I can spell worth a darn.

I got it with 1:11 remaining. Keep in mind that Newfoundland was renamed newfoundland and Labrador several years ago. I would have finished sooner but the when I was typing “Newfoundland and Labrador”, the computer cleared it after “Newfoundland”.

Got the 50 states with 6:44 remaining. Would have been faster, but I couldn’t spell Massachusetts correctly.

  4. Jeff Milner says:

Yeah, I noticed the Newfoundland and Labrador mistake, but in the end I decided to keep it simple and figured if anyone typed “Newfoundland and Labrador” it would automatically accept it after just “Newfoundland”.

What do you think, should I change it?

  5. anne says:

I was just going to come over and say, “hey you forgot Labrador!” so yeah might be a good idea to change it. Funny how it took a constitutional admendment for people to point out that Newfoundland changed its name fourty odd years ago with the Labrador Act ;)

Hey neat game. I did the Canadian portion of the game in 1:00 even. Enjoyed your adaptation of it Jeff. Well Done.

I also did the American one. I missed Idaho (not sure why I have only driven through it 40 times), minnesota, new hamsphire, delaware and nebraska. I have to confess though I did use google to help me spell some of the states the massachusetts, pennsylvania etc.

  8. Jeff Milner says:

I had to look up Massachusetts (among others) as well. I didn’t consider it cheating though, because I could remember the name, but not how to spell it.

  9. Rocky J. Martin says:

I saw Delaware on a list of other states and I knew that I would not have remembered it. So I did not put it down. But the other ones I did not remember at all. Still baffles me why I couldn’t remember Idaho.

  10. Jeff Milner says:

I changed “Newfoundland” to the official “Newfoundland and Labrador”.

  11. JGO says:

    Forgot New Brunswick

  12. Rando says:

I’m from Holland and had 25 states, really difficult game hehe
But now I just saw, I really need to learn the States better.
