After the Warming
May 27th, 2007“After the Warming”, stars James Burke, whom you may remember from the days when TLC actually showed educational television and not just a bunch of reality-tv remixes in various flavors of “how to buy a house”, “how to fix up a house” or “how to be an animal while making motorcycles” in the truly worthwhile show, “Connections”.
“After the Warming” is like a special edition of Connections in which we learn how changes in civilization, the weather, and industrialization brought on the current climate crisis we now face.
Hit play or watch full screen at Google Video.
["After the Warming" is] an early documentary about global warming. It theorizes and tells facts about the effects global weather has had on our history. It then theorizes a lot more about its effects on our future and especially the way in which we will overcome it’s bad effects. If you don’t mind some, not proofed, theorizing from a reasonably intelligent guy, and are interested in our climate, this is probably a must see.
I found the news clip style predictions of an increase in hurricanes, rising oceans levels, and the devastation of New Orleans particularly chilling. Some of the prediction dates were a bit off, but interesting to think about anyway.

sorry Jeff, this is more brainwashing, i don’t see enough of the other side, oh, thats right, the other side is losing their credentials for telling the other side.
if it bleeds it leads, no offense to you, just had enough of this “1984″ type of assimilation.
also there is no money or power in arguing everything is fine, humans are not capable of doing anything more than making life miserable for other humans.
Btw, the video link you posted on religion & behaviours, hit the nail right on the head, this video should be in the same catagory with it.
i’m all for new technology & renewable fuel, just don’t feel like agreeing with junk science to push it or bigger government to think for me or force me to agree.
too bad, if it were happening, it can’t just be natural & there is nothing we can do about it except prepare for when it starts, of course, maybe thats the truth, the governments are shielding us from the inevitable, tisk, tisk, the new world religion..
i just don’t buy it!

Lasing, I don’t think you watched the video. It wasn’t nearly as doom and gloom as you are making it out to be. In fact, I felt they undersold how easily the problem would be solved.
Anyway, as far as the global warming that we are experiencing, it doesn’t particularly matter to me how it started, it only matters if there is something that we can do to help fix it.
Regardless of whether it’s a natural trend or not, we still have to live here and it makes sense to pay attention to our environment; hopefully there is something that can be done.

I’ll give you that Jeff. I must hand it to you, calm, objective, this is why I frequent your site.
*Sore subject to my own regarding this subject, too many folks willing to sell their own releatives to convince/force you.
Btw, I was only able to watch about 20 min, I’ll give it more of a try.
If I hear junk science, I’ll call foul though..
Best regards
