Flickr.com, my favorite way to share photos, has been officially purchased by Yahoo. Some of the changes include:
- Both free and pro accounts will have more storage and uploads
- The cost for pro accounts will be less
- Yahoo Photos will get a lot of Flickr features but they will remain separate entities
- Current Pro Account holders will get something SPECIAL! (it’s a secret)
As for changes in the way Flickr is run they claim that the company will be continuing on the path it’s on.
We’ll be working with a bunch of people that Totally Get Flickr and want to preserve the community and the flavor of what is here. We’re going to grow and change, but we’re in it for the long haul, with the same management and same team.
