Google now lets your have a personalized google homepage. Some of the options available to personalize the page are:

• The Stock Market
• The New York Times
• The BBC News
• Google News
• Your Weather
• Wired News
• Slashdot
• Movies
• Driving Directions
• Quote of the Day
• Word of the Day

You have to be logged in to Google to see the page, and I haven't had much time to try it out, but at first glance I think it's kind of neat.
