Video Games and Violence

Adrian Crook, a video game producer and an acquaintance of mine was approached by MTV to share his opinion on video games and violence. Though he was asked to argue for the “Hogwash! Video games don’t cause violence!” side he has written a very balanced and level-headed contribution to the ongoing debate. MTV never did end up using him for their show, but you can read his response to MTV’s pre-screening questionnaire. It’s an interesting read for those interested in media studies; plus Adrian’s candid responses are hilarious.

Jeff Milner… I did not know where to comment All i have to say is wow. Your site about Stairway to Heavan is 100% incorrect refereing to Brown..You pre-recoreded it and changed it to go backwards. For example how do you get the numbers "666" out of any words backwords in John Lennons songs. When i was a child "They" said that if you played beatles songs backwards it would say things like "Paul Mcartney is dead" well paul mcartney ain't dead hes 60 and got children. It doesnt prove anything.. your "satanical messages" do not prove anything. Technologically the words backwords would sound like the letters of the specific words spelled backwards because the solution A doesnt fit the eqaution. For the past 2 weeks I have studied your site and i gotta hand it to you you did good on everything manI recieved my PHD at Stanford University, I am currently 39, I still attend college and I plan to for the rest of my life. I graduated from Stanford, Penn, Brown, and currently enrolled in Yail University. While attending Brown University we proved this wrong.

I probably should just stay out of this but…

That comment was by far the least intelligent liar ever. The comment alone has numerous grammatical errors. Considering that this person is supposed to have gone through years of colleg (yeah right), the grammar and spelling alone was horrible.

Secondly, the backwards sounds are completely authentic. He even has the actual song clip for stairway that you can download and reverse yourself. I don't understand how someone can be so ignorant.

O well…
