I just came across this clip of Patrick Stewart on The Extras. This is an old one that you may have seen before, but it’s a classic.

Please enjoy the beautiful Oscar winning animated short, The Danish Poet. It’s done in a very traditional Canadian animation style and has a storyline that will melt even the coldest of hearts.

A couple of weeks ago I watched the video Spiders On Drugs.
It’s a parody of the old Hinterland Who’s Who show that you may remember if you watched Saturday morning cartoons in the 1980’s here in Canada. Hinterland’s Who’s Who would come on between shows—I used to hate them, “enough with the stupid animals I want to see cartoons!”
This interesting read is the story of Andrew Struthers who made the video and his narration of what happened after he posted it on YouTube.
I’m a fan of scrubs, and if you are too, you might like this version of Charlie Brown’s Christmas performed by the Scrubs cast.
Here is some backstory.
Take everyone’s favorite Christmas special, mix in a little wackiness from everyone’s favorite medical sitcom, and what do you get? You get the video that’s after the jump: a ten-minute version of A Charlie Brown Christmas with the voices of the cast of Scrubs dubbed in.
And don’t think that this is just Zach Braff, John C. McGinley and company doing a literal reading of the Charlie Brown script; it’s more like a Scrubs episode, complete with flashbacks, girl names, and penis jokes. Even the characters are the same. Except here, JD looks like Chuck, Dr. Cox looks like Linus, Carla looks like Lucy, etc. (And there’s even a Cox Rant ™ or two in there, in places you wouldn’t expect). I’ll let you be surprised at where the other voices pop up.
The video was made during season three for a cast Christmas party. It’s very funny and definitely worth a look.
iFilm has made a deal with Comedy Central and is hosting a bunch of clips from their popular shows including Daily Show and The Colbert Report. (It’s updated daily)
A modern day Robin Hood was giving out free money and almost causing riots in New York. They claim it’s all in the name of making people feel good.
From the BBC story:
Three Britons dressed as Robin Hood and his Merry Men caused a small stampede in a park in New York after throwing $4,000 (£2,110) into the air.
The pranksters—from Sheffield in England—said they hoped their stunt would encourage New Yorkers to be more polite and “give something back”.
However, the plan reportedly back-fired after passers-by pushed and pulled at each other to grab the free cash.
The men who called themselves the Modern Day Robin Hoods, threw the $4,000, made up of $1, $5,$10 and $20 notes, into the air, sparking the frenzy. Even children were reportedly stepped on, although no-one was seriously hurt.
Check out the video of a fourteen year-old king penguin from Japan that likes to go shopping — no joke. For more penguins see Miss Cellania’s Penguin Post.

Rabbit is a creepy remix of old graphics from 1950s illustrations that have been rendered into animation in Adobe After effects. It’s a beautifully creepy story—just in time for Halloween.
Update: PingMag has an interesting interview with director Run Wrake.

There is a video I saw today of a remote controlled airplane equipped with a camera broadcasting in realtime to the owner’s virtual reality goggles that made me green with envy.
It’s a do-it-yourself project, but I could easily imagine this would be popular if it were massed produced.
I’ve never actually flown a remote controlled aircraft before, but I understand learning how to land them is one of the most difficult aspects to becoming a good RC Pilot. I would assume that having a view from the cockpit would make things a lot easier.
Check out the video.
Most of the readers here will have already seen the all three movies, but for a bit of nostalgia, check out the Lord of the Rings Trilogy movie trailer (640×272 MOV) created as if the three parts were one.
